Best controller settings for Battlefield 2042

The Battlefield 2042 beta is finally here and the PC version offers a ton of graphical customization options. Here are the best PC settings, whatever your hardware.

Players can finally get their hands on Battlefield 2042 with the beta now available on consoles and PC. However, gamers on all platforms are reporting serious performance issues with low frame rates and stuttering.

DICE said it was an older version of the game and the performance issues should be addressed by the time it is released. So we’ve rounded up the best PC settings you can use to get the best performance no matter what your gaming platform is.

System requirements for Battlefield 2042 on PC

Minimum advised
Operating system Windows 10 64-bit Windows 10 64-bit
CPU Intel Core i5 6600K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Intel Core i7 4790 / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
RAM 8 GB 16 GB
VRAM 4GB 8 GB
GPU NVIDIA GeForce 1050 ti / AMD Radeon RX 560 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 / AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT
DirectX: Version 12 Version 12

Battlefield 2042 has an incredibly high recommended system requirement, with the developers claiming that you need at least an RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 7 2700X to play the game the way it should.

However, players have called the requirements “insane” and said they may not be what is actually required.

Best Battlefield 2042 PC settings for low-end hardware

Battlefield 2042 Orbital Map Beta Game

If your hardware is low-end, you might find it hard to include some of the high graphics settings that Battlefield 2042 has to offer.

We have some settings in place that should give you at least a stable 60 FPS, but of course you can change it to your liking.

Screen configuration

  • Full screen mode: Full screen
  • Full screen device: Monitor 1 (your preference)
  • Full screen resolution: The resolution of your monitor (for example 1920 x 1080)
  • Refresh rate: Highest possible option (e.g. 143.855 Hz)

Field of view

  • Field of view: 65
  • Vehicle 3P field of vision: 30
  • ADS Field of View: Deactivated

Field of View works differently in Battlefield 2042 than it does in Warzone. While the Call of Duty slider affects the horizontal field of view, the Battlefield slider affects the vertical. Thanks to CoD YouTuber JGOD, we understand that a vertical FOV of 68 in Battlefield is roughly equivalent to a FOV of 100 in Call of Duty.

Graphics settings

  • Brightness: 50
  • High dynamic range: Deactivated
  • Motion blur: 0
  • Chromatic aberation: Deactivated
  • Film grain: Deactivated
  • Thumbnail: Deactivated
  • Lens distortion: Deactivated

Regardless of the game, you want to turn off settings like Motion Blur, Chromatic Abberation, and Film Grain. These unnecessary visual effects will put you at a disadvantage and make your game worse for no reason.

Graphic preset

  • Graphic quality: Custom
  • Texture quality: Average
  • Texture filtering: Moo
  • Lighting quality: Moo
  • Quality of effects: Moo
  • Post-process quality: Moo
  • Mesh quality: Moo
  • Ground quality: Moo
  • Quality of the undergrowth: Moo
  • Anti-aliasing post-processing: Low TAA
  • Ambient occlusion: Deactivated

For the most part, you can set Battlefield 2042’s graphics options to Low. The game will still look pretty good and you will get a higher and more stable frame rate to boot.

Advanced

  • Dynamic resolution scale: On (if you’re struggling to maintain 60FPS)
  • NVIDA Reflex Low Latency: Enabled
  • Future rendering of the image: Deactivated
  • Vertical synchronization: Deactivated
  • Amount of high fidelity items: Moo

Best Battlefield 2042 PC settings for high-end hardware

Battlefield 2042 combat jets

If your platform meets or exceeds the recommended specs, you may be able to set high graphics settings to get the game at its best.

However, you don’t want them all set to maximum, so here’s a solid balance between high and low settings for the best visuals and performance.

Screen configuration

  • Full screen mode: Full screen
  • Full screen device: Monitor 1 (your preference)
  • Full screen resolution: The resolution of your monitor (for example 1920 x 1080)
  • Refresh rate: Highest possible option (e.g. 143.855 Hz)

Field of view

  • Field of view: 70
  • Vehicle 3P field of vision: 30
  • ADS Field of View: Deactivated

You should be free to boost your FOV a bit with a high-end rig. But, FOV depends on preference, so pick the value that works best for you.

Even Battlefield 2042 players on high-end platforms are reporting performance issues, so you might not want to increase all settings to the max. Instead, we set the texture quality to high, but reduced the graphics on unnecessary detail.

  • NVIDA Reflex Low Latency: At
  • Future rendering of the image: Deactivated
