We understood. Being a Cincinnati Bengals fan is tough, even when the home team earns new stripes and a real throne. And now, a new survey of the drinking habits of NFL fans seems to confirm that.
A recent investigation by SportsHandle, an offshoot of the gaming media group US Bets, shows that Bengals fans are No 1 in the country for drinking the day of the match. We apparently suck more hookah than followers of any other team, consuming more than 5.2 drinks per game and spending $ 43.08 on alcohol.
However, all of this drinking comes at a price, as Bengals fans are # 3 for missing some or all of the games because we’re too drunk. According to SportsHandle, 63% of us do.
Our friends in Cleveland are also prone to alcohol. According to the survey, Cleveland Browns fans rank 8th on the list of drunken fans, with $ 45.34 spent on 4.3 drinks per game.
Fans of the San Francisco 49ers are the most sober, spending just $ 30.58 for 2.6 drinks per game.
For its data, SportsHandle surveyed fans of legal drinking age between June 21 and June 30 of this year. See the spending habits of all NFL fan bases.
The Cincinnati Bengals begin the preseason game Aug. 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the regular season begins Sept. 12 with the Minnesota Vikings visiting Paul Brown Stadium.
