Presentation of Georgia

To say Georgia dominated Vanderbilt would be an understatement. The Dawgs won 62-0 and gave the Commodores just 77 yards. It was the type of performance one would expect from an elite national championship contender against an inferior opponent.

Georgia secured a No.1 vote in the latest AP poll, bringing its total to four first-place votes.

This week, the Dawgs welcome # 8 Arkansas with College Gameday also visiting Athens. We need everyone present to arrive early and make some noise.

Movers

Fallen: # 14 State of Iowa, # 18 Wisconsin, # 21 North Carolina, # 25 Kansas State

New arrivals: # 19 Oklahoma State, # 21 Baylor, # 23 NC State, # 24 Wake Forest

Overdone

# 6 Oklahoma. There is no suggestion that the Sooners are the sixth best team in the country. They’ve struggled to win against any non-FBS opponent to date, and their attack just doesn’t click. We don’t really know how good the Big 12 really is yet – the Sooners could run the table or lose 2-3 games – but we’ll have a better idea when Oklahoma heads to Manhattan to take on an angry team from Kansas State this weekend.

Underestimated

Maryland unranked. The Terrapins aren’t going to fight for the Big Ten title, but at 4-0 and with quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa playing at a high level, Maryland will shake things up in the conference. More to come on this …

The 25 best matches of the week

# 8 Arkansas to # 2 Georgia

# 7 Cincinnati at # 9 Notre-Dame

# 12 Ole Miss at # 1 Alabama

# 21 Baylor to # 19 Oklahoma State

Upset alert

Mississippi State covered last week but didn’t produce an outright win.

The list of matches this weekend will separate the suitors from the suitors. There are several options, but I’m going to go with Maryland at home as a +3 dog to upset # 5 Iowa. This game is on Friday night and crazier things have happened in those weekday games.

GO DAGGERS !!!
