WePC Gaming: How We Rate and Rate Games

Game review is complicated, as it is the only medium where art, music, and human interaction come together to elicit an emotional response other than (perhaps) pantomime theater. To put it bluntly, video game reviews are mostly about feelings, and sometimes games that don’t run at the highest frame rate or resolution will still score higher than the 8K 120FPS titles that have us. bored to tears.

When you read a WePC Gaming review, you get an honest and subjective opinion of the game. All of our reviews are from gamers and know the genres we’re going to drop them on. After reading one of our reviews, you should also know exactly how you’re going to feel about the game.

Codes for game reviews can be donated to WePC Gaming by game developers and publishers. We may also have affiliate links and product boxes on the page. None of these factors will ever affect our final grades.

If another staff member really has something to say about a game, then we’ll probably let them write a “Second Opinion” article. It also won’t affect the main score, but it will give you a different take on the game.

WePC Games Reviews

Classic

A “classic” game is the ultimate of the best, which players around the world will remember forever. We are talking about masterpieces like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, or The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. We promise that games that are not The Legend of Zelda can also enter this leaderboard. Truly. Do you want an example ? OK. Disco Elysée. There, we did it.

None of these games are perfect, but if we give a game five stars, it’s as close as it gets.

The “recommended” games are memorable and fun, and we think you should play them. We may have a few complaints, but they are still above most of the competition. These are often the highlights of the year, as true classics are rare.

Examples:

  • Tales of the Ascension
  • Lost judgment
  • The Witcher 3

Is it worth it

The “worth it” games are worth playing, but you’ll probably need more explanation from us to find out why. Maybe they’re a little cranky or repetitive, or they just aren’t that ambitious. They are by no means bad, and we were largely happy when we played them, despite any issues they may have had.

Examples:

  • Ultimate sonic colors
  • Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania
  • Back 4 Blood

Disappointing

The “disappointing” games just don’t make a difference. They lack polish or are poorly executed, and we came out of them without feeling moved or impressed. You might want to wait to pick up these games during a sale, or even miss them altogether.

Awful

If we score such a low match then you should avoid it. There will be no fun to be had at all here. “Horrible” games that get this score are not worth anyone’s time or their hard-earned money.
